The name Chateldon comes from the union of "Chato", referring to the estate's farmhouse, and "Cabernet Sauvignon", the grape variety used to make this wine. The label features the chapel of Mas Muntayans, located on the estate, along with the vineyards where this wine is grown, reflecting the connection between the terroir, tradition, and the grape that defines it. It is a classic of the winery that reflects the long winemaking history of Pinord.

Terroir
Plot 69 of the Mas Muntayans estate is set on clay-limestone soil, ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. The proximity to the Mediterranean Sea provides a beneficial breeze for the vines, while the hill where the plot is located protects the vines, creating a mild and balanced climate, perfect for viticulture.
Winemaking process
This wine is made from carefully selected grapes from plot 69 of the Mas Muntayans estate. After fermentation and maceration at a controlled temperature for about 20 days, it is aged for two years in French and American oak barrels. Finally, it rests for at least one year in the bottle, refining itself and achieving exceptional complexity and elegance.
