Around the 6th century BC, the Vaquos were the first stable settlers of the northern plateau of Castile. Socially and culturally advanced, they made wine a central element of their culture and celebrations. As a symbol of tradition and respect for the land, Bodegas Vaquos pays tribute to these ancestors by crafting unique wines from the Tinta Fina (Tempranillo) variety.

Terroir
The old-vine vineyards located on hillsides offer ideal conditions for aged wines. The slope of the terrain promotes excellent drainage, allowing the roots to penetrate deeply, enriching the wine with minerality. These sun-exposed plots produce concentrated and ripe fruit, resulting in wines with great structure, balance, and exceptional aging potential.
Winemaking process
The best grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard and quickly transported to the winery. Once there, gravity is used whenever possible to maintain the integrity of the grapes and treat the skins with great care, as they provide the aromas, texture, and color of the wine. The maceration of the must with the skins takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures for about 20 days, after which the free-run juice is extracted. The wine is aged for 24 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by an additional 24 months of bottle aging.
Appearance
Deep garnet hue, with a bright and clean ruby background.
Aroma
Highly complex, with aromas of ripe and candied fruits, fine spices, dried fruits, and a touch of oak.
Taste
Powerful and well-balanced, with a velvety, fleshy mouthfeel. Mature tannins are clearly noticeable, creating a refined and highly enjoyable experience. Long and intense aftertaste.

Food pairing and serving
Pairs perfectly with red meats such as grilled ribeye or beef tenderloin, as well as roasted or grilled lamb. It is also an excellent match for hearty stews, such as beef ragout or slow-cooked dishes. Aged cheeses, like Manchego, Parmesan, or Pecorino, beautifully complement the wine’s deep notes. Additionally, this wine pairs wonderfully with grilled fish such as tuna or salmon, and even with more elaborate dishes like duck magret or meats with rich and spiced sauces.
